The July 25, 2010, the associations "Jenes St. James" and "Oasis" invited guests and residents to enjoy a festive day at the old Valley of the Butterflies: the Habitation Latouche. A superb site was proposed where the expertise in crafts, cooking, songs and dances traditional. Hosted by Roman, this day has had the support of Rapha Christian and some of his friends and wanted to show the true face of the North Caribbean heritage in addition to the festivities offered by the city of St. Pierre. OPENING OF THE FESTIVAL 2010 PATRON OF THE CITY SAINT-PIERRE
This opening of the festival's 2010 Saint-Pierre, and according to elders, will be remembered because it took place in a festive atmosphere with hyper-wide participation of associations. The traditional Mass and blessing of fishermen and their boats were made by the priest in the presence of numerous personalities such as: the chief magistrate of the city Martine Raphael, President of the General Council Claude Lise, the Mayor of Fort-de-France Saint-Louis Augustin, President of the Association of Mayors of Martinique and Mayor Bernard Ocolier St. Mary Nestor Azerot. The parade, having crisscrossed the streets of the city, ended its run in the gardens of the city hall where the audience greeted the fact of receiving it for the first time in these places whereas before the reception was made in the lobby of City Hall. All participants were able to drink, eat, sing and dance to the sounds of drums sometimes bèlè, now on the sound system. A very pleasant time. Mitch
